For permanent means of access to rooftops, machinery and plant a safe edge-protected route is required where practicable. TAG can design and install customised walkways for all types of structure both horizontal and inclined, with fixed ladder access where necessary.

Walkways

Load-sharing platform walkways and catwalks with edge protection barriers for access across fragile surfaces, suspended ceilings or machinery, compliant to BS EN ISO 14122-3:2001 and with corrosion-resistant components throughout for decades of service. Horizontal walkways or inclined up-and-over systems for pitched valley rooftops are available, in fixed and transportable designs.

Vertical Fixed Ladders

Steel and alloy fixed ladders compliant to BS4211 and BS EN ISO 14122-4:2004 with anchoring systems for steel and masonry can be designed and installed for spans of any height, including intermediate platforms, fall arrest lifeline systems and safety cages on request. We can also install single-stile ladders with integrated fall arrest rails for specialist access.

Cantilever Arms

Where a horizontal fall arrest wire, rail or block system is required in a position without overhead anchors, we can design and install fully tested and certified cantilever support arms with concrete footings. These are often used for access onto vehicles at loading areas or maintenance bays where it is not possible to install fall protection directly onto the vehicle body, and provide the best levels of protection for those climbing onto vehicles or working from portable ladders. Semi-transportable systems with precast bases can be supplied where the arms will need periodic relocation, for example on civil engineering sites.
