HS09 Manual Handling
Overview
The aim of this course is to provide individuals with the knowledge and give practical guidance with regard to manual handling in the work place. The main aim being, the reduction of the risk of injuries arising out of work activities.

Who Should Attend
The training is aimed at those people who may be required to carry out any form of manual handling as part of their employment.
Course Objectives & Content
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- List the possible injuries that can occur due to poor posture and inadequate manual handling
- State the principles of safe lifting and good handling technique
- State the maximum recommended weights for lifting and lowering from various heights and positions
- Understand and demonstrate the use of a simple risk assessment form
- Carry out a dynamic risk assessment
